A Burst of Baroque

To launch the Brandenburg Orchestra’s 2024 season, Collider Studio was tasked with creating a fully animated film playfully exploring large inflatable instruments. The film is set in a virtual recreation of ‘The Cutaway’, a real world location in Barangaroo. The abundance of cloth, rope, and rigid body simulations all contributed to the dynamic and playful feel of the trailer. As head of 3D and the lead 3D artist I was involved in all aspects of the 3D process. This ranged from previz, modelling, creating the virtual Cutaway set, animation, simulation, shading, lighting and scene assembly.
